Giveaway

I had a wonderful time at the Des Moines/AQS quilt show with Linda and Doris, 2 bloggers I was fortunate enough to meet in person. It's a great show, goes thru October 9th in downtown Des Moines.

I used the old fashion method to pick a winner. I asked DH to give me a number and he picked Kim! You are the winner of the charm squares.

OUCH!!! and a Giveaway

My 2 year old granddaughter broke her leg jumping off the couch. She always has to do what the older kids do and she took quite a tumble. She has a hip spica cast, which is a cast that goes all the way down 1 leg, to her knee on the other leg and up to her waist and has a bar from one leg to the other to keep her immobile. I tried to post a picture of it, but couldn't get the computer to cooperate (operator error I say). She has to stay laying the whole time because she cannot bend at the waist. So she's going to be laying on a bean bag or the couch a lot of the time. I can't imagine how hard it's going to be to keep a 2 year old content for 6 weeks. Guess I should knock on wood....none of my kids ever had a broken bone.

Purging causes a giveaway

I have been in my sewing room for 2 nights now trying to figure out what to do with all the FABRIC and assorted things. I've been reading blogs about purging and decided that is what I am going to do too. But before I get to some of the scrappier things I have a few charm packs that I am going to giveaway. Today is Makin' Friends by Deb Strain. I have 2 more Christmas charm packs to give away also, so keep checking back. Maybe you'll still have time to make something for Christmas.

All I want you to do is to tell me what some of your favorite patterns are. I have been collecting aqua & red fabrics to make a quilt and need some ideas for a pattern. I am going to call a few of my friends to go shopping

and we are hoping to find some sale fabrics

like these batiks

or these

or these because I am going to take a class with Quiltinjeanie in a couple of weeks. We are going to make the Lava Lamp quilt and I need 17 fabrics from lights to darks. And of course I won't have that much in my stash.........

And so this will be me after the shopping trip. And just wait until after the class. Woo Hoo!!
