60th Anniversary

Today was my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. It was a bittersweet day because they are not with us. The last anniversary they celebrated was 2 years ago. They had 58 wonderful years together. They had a deep love that you don't find as often today. They built a business together, raised 5 children, and were able to retire soon enough to travel and spend time with relatives and friends. I think back to all the wonderful memories and the celebrations we had. They had 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, with 1 more added earlier this year. So remember to count your blessings and celebrate all the wonderful memories you hold so dear in your heart.
You never know how much longer you have with your loved ones. I miss them more and more each day. I think of something I want to tell them about what happened today, or who I taked to or something about the new baby and then remember... I can't do that. But I think they are looking down on us and taking care of us still, as they did when we were children. Happy Anniversary..........this year you can celebrate together again.

Happy Anniversay to your Mum and Dad. My Mum and Dad just missed celebrating their 60th by 10 months, me and my Mum celebrated it though. Your words really hit home to me, I try to tell people who still have their parents to love and cherish them (even when they get on their nerves!) you really don't know what it's like until they have gone. I wish I had asked so many questions but, like everyone else, I thought there was plenty of time...there never is.....Everyone who still has their Mum and Dad give them a hug today - for no reason but just because you can. Hugs Linda

What a sweet post. My in laws have been married for 68 years. We almost lost my MIL two years ago, but she is still with us. Dad is 91 and Mom will turn 90 in March. Savor the memories.

I am glad you were able to spend so many years with them. We are fortunate to have my parents with us, but I now how fragile that is. So sorry for you and your family.

Where would we be without our memories. I'm sure they are having a wonderful celebration together and enjoy knowing that you are thinking of them on their special day.

What beautiful and comforting memories you have. You are right, we really need to number our days and be thankful, always counting our blessings. November is an interesting month for me, and I have chosen to find joy in every day this month. :o)
