What next?

I cannot get my computer to work right. Could be operator error I suppose. But I keep losing things, and now I can't get photos to post and I cannot get links to post. Just when I think I've got the hang of it, some little green gremlin sneaks into my computer and messes with me. I do have a secret weapon tho. My son is going to be home over Memorial Day and I'm hoping to get him to look at it. He's a computer programer, but unfortunately lives too far away to come every time I need help. When I call him about some of my "problems" he just laughs and says, so what did you do this time?? Or he says, how did you ever do THAT???

I made it back

I'm back home and had a great time while I was gone. My aunt and I travelled across Iowa on Interstate 80 from Moline, IL to home which is within 40 miles of the Nebraska border with tomato plants in the van. Of course they could be seen in the windows, and it looked like we had another type of "plant" in there. I kept thinking if a highway patrol car passes me, I bet I get stopped. (yikes!) But we made it with no problems.

I think I must not be compatable with my camera and/or computer. I have tried to get pictures uploaded and am having a terrible time doing it. So no photos today. I am having fun reading the blogs and looking at the pictures of the people who went to market tho. So much wonderful fabric! Looks like they had a great time. There is going to be a quilt show in Omaha in June and the big show in Des Moines in October that I plan on going to and then I can check out all the new stuff. I need more "insulation" in my sewing room. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

maybe only a few posts

I'm going to be gone for a few days on R & R. I went to visit my family out of state and we are planning on visiting and enjoying the grandchildren. My cousin has 14 grandchildren, 10 are girls and the children are all under the age of 11. They are so much fun to play with. Last night was a birthday party for one of the girls. So much giggling and jumping up and down and just having fun.

March & April have been very stressful months with losing my dad and having my boss, who was a very dear friend, both die within 11 days. I won't have anyone at work to replace my boss (a priest who said he wasn't really a boss, just a co-worker) until July 8th. But for this coming week, I turned off the answering machine and told a couple key people I'd be gone in case anything comes up. I work as a church secretary in a small town, so it's just me and the priest. But I know they can get by and being away for 10 day is just what I need right now.

Everyone enjoy spring. We have irises, tulips, & lilacs blooming! Sorry no photos of them but I don't have my camera cord and can't download anything right now.

Bittersweet Mother's Day

Mother's Day this year was hard for me. My dad would have been 82 years old on Mother's Day. Two years ago I had 2 healthy parents, and now they are both gone. It's hard to explain how I feel. Empty I guess. My daughter came to town and we had breakfast together. She will be a mother in 2 months. It is exciting talking about the little boy she is expecting. Yes, life goes on.

Almost a Wordless Wednesday

Just a couple more photos of the "storm" that hit
our yard. DH didn't think it was fair that he
had to go to work and couldn't play in the dirt.

And what a storm it was!!

Just Kidding!! We moved an old house out of the
lot next to ours and this is what's left of the basement. Posted by Picasa
Posted by PicasaIn the process of moving the house and
cleaning up the basement we had to take
a couple of trees out also.
Posted by PicasaThis is another picture of the basement. I tried
to post the 3 pictures together, but this is the
best I could do for now. They have all the brick
removed and are bringing in 3 loads of dirt to
fill the hole and level off the yards. Hopefully
it will be finished later today and I can get
a picture of the lot and our house. The house
in the picture is our neighbor's place.
